Nestled between two charming villages in North Kent, Leven is Strijd Wedding Venue is a stunning riverside and boat venue, perfect for an intimate rural wedding, blessing, or handfasting ceremony, for up to 24-28 day guests.
With only one wedding held each week, couples enjoy exclusive use of the venue and the luxury of ample setup time, ensuring every detail is just right for your special day.
Marriages, Blessings or Handfasting Ceremonies
Our ceremony space is set within a beautiful, glass-fronted stretch tent, offering uninterrupted views across the tranquil River Medway. Located along a peaceful stretch of the historic Saxon Shoreline, this serene setting provides a truly memorable backdrop for your ceremony.
Just steps away, our bar area invites you and your guests to unwind and take in the scenery, creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere to continue your celebrations.
Wedding Breakfast
Your wedding breakfast is served aboard the beautifully restored Leven is Strijd, an elegant Dutch barge offering a truly unique dining experience. In collaboration with your chosen caterers, we host a full three-course meal, followed by tea and coffee, all enjoyed in the characterful surroundings of this historic vessel.
On warmer days, the retractable roof can be opened, allowing you and your guests to dine beneath open skies, adding a magical touch to your celebration. The barge also features two guest restrooms and a well-stocked bar for your convenience and comfort.
Canapés and Bar Area
Following your ceremony, you and your guests are invited to unwind at our elegant Art Deco bar, located within the glass-fronted stretch tent. We offer a wide selection of spirits and beers, with an emphasis on locally sourced options wherever possible.
Later in the evening, this space reopens for you and your evening guests for after-dinner drinks and sweet treats, perfect for relaxing under the stars as your celebration continues into the evening.
